Appointment-free administration of Omicron-specific vaccines at large-scale vaccination centers

Large-scale Omicron strain vaccination centers are now offering walk-in vaccinations without the need to make an advance reservation. Furthermore, those that want to make an advance reservation will now be able to do so until 11 a.m. on the day of vaccination.

  • Criteria for receiving a vaccine

In order to confirm that your most recent vaccination was at least three months ago, you are required to bring personal identification (such as a driver's license or insurance card), as well as one item from points (2) or (3) below.

(1) Personal identification (e.g., driver's license, insurance card, etc.)

(2) Vaccination voucher

OR

(3) Proof of date of most recent vaccination (e.g., vaccination certificate (digital app-based certificate also accepted))

  • For individuals without reservations

l Registration times

Individuals will be accepted for vaccination each day from the start of operations until one hour before closing.

Weekdays: From 2 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays: From 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., then from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.

l Order of vaccination

For each time slot, individuals with reservations will be prioritized. Any additional spaces will be given to individuals without reservations, in their order of registration. (If there are no spaces available during the time slot of your registration, you will be vaccinated during a time slot with availability.)

* Please be aware that, depending on availability, we may be unable to offer you a vaccination.

  • For individuals wishing to make an advance reservation

Previously, reservations (online or by telephone) were only accepted up to the day before vaccine administration, but it will now be possible to make a reservation up to 11 a.m. on the day of vaccination. However, same-day reservations must be made by telephone.

Individuals who wish to receive a vaccination are recommended to make a reservation well in advance.

Establishment of large-scale vaccination sites for COVID-19

Kagoshima Prefecture will establish large-scale vaccination sites in Kagoshima City, Kanoya City, Satsumasendai City, and Kirishima City to promote vaccination against the Omicron strain of novel coronavirus. Vaccination is available to prefectural citizens who have completed the second (or third)

doses and are 18 years of age or older. If you wish to take the doses of this vaccination, please proceed to do so as soon as possible.

l Kagoshima City

3 Eligibility

Prefectural citizens aged 18 and over who have completed the second (or third) doses

(whose second vaccination was administered at least 5 months ago)

4 Vaccine Type

The vaccine used will be the BA.1 Moderna vaccine.

5 Things to bring on the day of vaccination

1. Vaccination voucher for the booster shot (issued by the municipality listed on your Certificate of residence)

2. Pre-examination slip (please fill in and bring the slip that you received from your municipality)

3. Identity verification (driver's license, My Number card, health insurance card etc.)

4. Document stating the date of your latest vaccination (certificate of vaccination etc. (app records are also acceptable))

- Note: This is not required if your vaccination voucher or pre-examination slip indicates the date of the latest vaccination.

5. Prescription record (for those who are currently on medication)

3. Open Hours

(1) Weekdays

4. Inoculation Eligibility

(1) Persons aged 18 or older who desire to receive the third dose of inoculation (those who have the period of 5 months (or 6 months*) or more since the second dose)

*Note: Persons who desire to receive the inoculation of Takeda company vaccine (Novavax) need to have the period of 6 months or more since the second dose.

(2) The following persons who desire to receive the fourth dose of inoculation (those who have the period of 5 months or more since the third dose)

- Persons aged 60 or older

- Persons aged 18 or older who have underlying medical disease

- Medical service workers

- Workers in facilities for the elderly

5. Vaccines for the inoculation

- For the third dose: Moderna vaccine, Takeda vaccine (Novavax)

- For the fourth dose: Moderna vaccine

6. Reservations

- Reservations in advance is not required. (Inoculation will be given without reservations).

20 persons can take inoculation per hour.

7. What to bring to the inoculation venue

- Vaccination voucher

If you have not received the vaccination voucher, please bring your "Certificate of Vaccination" or "Certificate of Vaccination Completion" to confirm the date of the second/third dose.

- Identification documents (Residence card, insurance card, etc.)
