Due to the Covid-19 situation, the government will give 100,000 yen to every person living in Japan.

Those that are eligible to receive the 100,000 yen are those who are listed in the Basic Resident Register as of 27^th April. Foreigners are also eligible.

In order for foreigners who lost their jobs during the coronavirus period to continue working, the Immigration Bureau of Japan will specially recognise a "Designated Activities" (特定活動) status of residence, a working visa with a maximum validity of 1 year.
